As a kid I couldn't wait to go with my Mom to the grocery store. I knew I'd come home with a bag of Ruffles and an uninterrupted stint of reading the latest car magazines front to cover. If I was lucky, Mom would let me go home with a DuPont Registry.
Before I got my Driver's License I would ride my bike down to the 7-Eleven and read Sport Compact Car, Turbo Magazine, or Super Street. I grew up in the internet forum heyday and spent hours and hours participating and lurking on anything from VWVortex and honda-tech, to LS1.com and 6speedonline.
carsthencoffee was created to highlight the pockets of automotive variety and journalistic quality that still exist despite the dominance of social media. If you're familiar with both Hacker News and Apex Automotor, this site hopes to mix the best of both of those communities.
The vision is simple: bring together true car enthusiasts who understand that great automotive discussions are brand agnostic and transcend the idea of domestic vs. import.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the site.
Happy motoring,
